Despite the global COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL intends to play out its 2020 season as scheduled, but there will be noticeable differences. For starters, the league will test players three times per week for COVID-19, and those who test positive will be forced to self-isolate. Another major difference is that there won’t be fans in any of the first six to eight rows at all NFL stadiums. Instead, those rows will be tarped off and teams will be permitted to sell advertising to make up for potential revenue losses.

According to The Athletic, the league doesn’t intend to restrict how many fans teams can allow at their stadiums, which will instead be determined by specific teams in accordance with state and county guidelines. Both the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens have confirmed to NBC Sports Washington that they will follow government regulations as they relate to stadium capacity. There’s also a possibility that the league will play some of its games without fans in attendance.
